Each fall season, the Young Patronesses of the Opera holds a Teacher's Workshop which trains over 100 Miami-Dade County music teachers from public, private and parochial schools on how to broaden a child's horizon by exposing them to opera in the classroom. We work closely with the Miami-Dade County School board to offer a quality program. Teachers use valuable lessons in history, literature, theater, creative and critical writing as well as music appreciation.

The 2011 Teacher’s workshop will be held on November 5th at Mast Academy in Key Biscayne. The day will include presentations from an FCAT specialist, YPO's Educator of Note winner, performances from Florida Grand Opera's Young Artists, and a delicious lunch! If you are a teacher who would like to register to attend the workshop, contact Mr. RT Davis's office at the Miami-Dade County School Board.
