Teacher's Workshop

Each fall season, the Young Patronesses of the Opera holds a Teacher's Workshop which trains over 100 Miami-Dade County music teachers from public, private and parochial schools on how to broaden a child's horizon by exposing them to opera in the classroom. We work closely with the Miami-Dade County School board to offer a quality program. Teachers use valuable lessons in history, literature, theater, creative and critical writing as well as music appreciation.

The 2010 Teacher’s workshop will be held on November 2nd at the Coral Reef High School. It will be yet another wonderful workshop with speakers including our Educator of Note winner, plus performances from Florida Grand Opera's Young Artists, Coral Reef High School students, and a delicious lunch!
