Star Theory  <http://www.musicarrangers.com/star-theory/>
This is the best free preparatory syllabus in music theory and orchestration on the net. It is aimed at adults who love Hollywood film scores, Sinatra and Mancini. In three books and fifty-eight pages you will find the basics of pitch, chords and time. True to the web, we have included midi for you to hear and Java for you to interact with.
We're fast paced so we won't send you to sleep. We don't want to loose you either. So we have included minature interactive tests with each page. If you do the tests you will be less likely to get lost later-on. We also recommend the lengthy test paper at the end of each book. The test paper will help you to consolidate what you have learnt and prepare you for future lessons. If you think you know everything in the book, try the test paper first. This syllabus is well suited to classroom and private study.
